Move Over Gateway Cities: Why Texas Is Attractive to Foreign Investors

It is becoming evident amid the changing foreign investment climate that investors, looking to diversify their strategies and targets, like the Lone Star state. Texas now outpaces California and the entire country in foreign investment % relative to sales volume. Last year alone foreign investment totaled $5B, 15% of total sales according to Costar. More than half of all investment pouring into Texas comes from the U.K, Germany, and France. The infrastructure throughout the state is among one of the key reasons global investors are so enamored, direct flights and abundant highways allow for clients to see and tour properties prior to purchasing. The diversity and balance provided by the bigger cities, in particular, put investors at ease according to Laurie Dotter, President of Transwestern Corporate Properties and Investment Group.
